3. Ovarian stimulation (about 10–12 days). Beginning at the start of your cycle, daily hormone injections help several eggs mature, with regular ultrasound scans and hormone checks along the way.
4. Egg retrieval. A short procedure under light sedation, typically 15–20 minutes.
5. Fertilization in the laboratory. Eggs and sperm are combined — often using ICSI, where a single sperm is injected into each egg.
6. Embryo development & transfer. Embryos are cultured for 3–5 days; the best embryo is transferred to the uterus in a quick, painless procedure.
7. Pregnancy test & follow-up. A blood test about 10–12 days later. Prof. Arslan stays in contact for follow-up after you return home.
How long will you stay in Istanbul?
Fresh transfer: because stimulation begins at the start of your cycle, your embryo transfer takes place about 20–22 days later. You can leave soon after — we recommend staying about 3 days following the transfer.
Frozen transfer with extra steps (genetic testing/PGT, hysteroscopy or laparoscopy): embryos are frozen and transferred the following month, so the full journey spans about 1.5–2 months. This is often arranged as two shorter visits — one for egg retrieval, one for the transfer — so you can return home in between.
